Mausoleum Yusuf Ibn Tashfin

In the old part of the city modestly there is a small structure, almost nothing looks and covered with a tiled green. Oddly, but this building is the mausoleum of one of the most revered people of the city – its founder of Yusuf-Ibn-Tashfin, which is also reading as a member of the major Mauradis dynasty. Yusuf-Ibn-Tashfin marked the city in the second half of the 11th century. A year before the foundation of the city, he was appointed as commander-in-chief of almoravid warriors. From Algeria to Senegal there were no more powerful warriors.

At the age of 100 Yusuf-Ibn-Tashfin dies at the beginning of the 12th century, leaving its followers conquered by the African West. With the tomb of Yusufa is associated with an amazing story. The fact is that the building of the tomb was found only in the last century during aerial photography conducted by the French.
