In Paris will be fined for cigarette
Soon in Paris, smokers for each cigarette, who thrown past the urn, will have to pay 35 euros. Follow the smokers and write out the fines will be the police.
It is expected, penalties to untidy smokers in Paris will begin to apply after special ashtrays will be installed near all urns – they will be made from cheap materials, and not from stainless steel, which, according to the authorities, will reduce the number of their theft.
According to the French media, each year of Paris’s utilities is removed from the streets of the city over three hundred tons of garbage remaining from smokers. In addition to the fact that significant funds are spent on this cleaning, the cigarettes are damaged by the ecosystem of the city: experts claim that each cigarette, getting into a water treatment system, pollutes about six liters of water and decomposes in vivo about 10 years.
Paris residents are quite skeptical about this initiative of the city authorities and believe that new fines will have little effect on the situation as a whole. Moreover, the garbage emitted by smokers is not the most acute problem of the city. For example, Parisians advise the administration to pay attention to dog’s excrement on sidewalks. In addition, the French are unhappy that the authorities decided to immediately start with punitive measures, and not with preventive.
