France will launch budget trains
SNCF (French National Railway Company) plans to reduce prices for tickets in high-speed TGV trains. As an experiment from April 1, 2013, the first budget express will be launched, which will connect Paris with the south of France. You can buy tickets for this train from March 29. Send the trains will be from Marne Valle station, located in Paris and St. Exupery suburb near Lyon. European tourism is actively developing, many travel on trains, therefore it was decided to create an economy version of the rapid line of the railway.
The new composition will call OUGO, and it will be possible to learn on the light blue color of the composition. It can be reached from Paris to Marseille, Montpellier and Lyon by paying less than 25 euros per ticket. While now the ticket for a high-speed train on this route will cost tourists more than 100 euros. In a new train, the first place will save on restaurants – their number will decrease, the luggage compartments will also decrease – tourists will be able to transport only one suitcase. But the number of places for passengers will increase, in conventional TGV trains 1000 passenger seats, and in economy there will be 1200.
French railway workers predict that new trains will be able to transport a million people per year, which will allow at least 20% increase in passenger traffic on TGV routes. Today, TGV speed trains run not only through the territory of France, the total railway network connects the country with Italy, Switzerland and Belgium.
