8th International Animation Festival

From March 7 to March 13, 2013, the 8th International Animation Festival (8th Athens Animfest) will be held in Athens, in which 167 short animation films from Greece and 33 foreign countries will take part.

In the competition program of the festival will be attended by 84 short animated films, including 24 Greek.

In addition, 64 films will take part in the program-dedication to French cartoon films and 19 – as a dedication of the Polish studio "SE-MA-FOR".

Under the name "Animation of neighboring countries" will be displayed 9 unique films from European countries such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Estonia, Poland and Lithuania.

And, finally, the festival will end with a demonstration of 4 Polish films dedicated to the animation’s pioneer – the creator of the world’s first plot films shot in the technique of doll animation – our director Vladislav Alexandrovich Solavelich.

In parallel with the main program of the festival, a number of other events will be held:

Lecture of Animator and Professor of the School of Fine Arts of Jerusalem Roni Oren (College "Akto", March 7, 2013);

Master class under the leadership of Roni Orena (Athens University, Department of Education and Parenting at Preschool Aged, March 8, 2013);

Seminar: "Audiovisual Fundamentals and Education" (Camerary Archive of Greece, March 9).
