5Pointz – the most famous graffiti object in New York
5pointz is a unique object where you can see the creations of many famous street artists who painted their works here.
The organizer of such an extraordinary exhibition was Jonathan Cohen, also known under the pseudonym "Meres". It is he who will offer other street artists to turn the old abandoned building in the real gallery.
Every year the drawings became more and more. The building has become a kind of attraction among tourists and local residents.
It is worth noting that even the elusive baksci drew their graffiti here.
When the number of graffiti exceeded the mark at 1.5 thousand, even began to carry whole buses with tourists. The building was noted in foreign guidebooks, as a modern tourist attraction in Queens (Queens).
This building belonged to a Jerry Wolkoff businessman (Jerry Wolkoff), who acquired it in 1970. Despite the fact that in 1990, Jonathan Cohen agreed with the owner that graffiti will be placed on the building, in 2014 all of them were smeared by white paint.
Such a step was taken due to the fact that the owner of the building decided to reconstruct him into a commercial object. Jonathan Cohen wanted to make a museum from the building and filed to court, but it was played.
Unfortunately, today the building is on reconstruction, and unique graffiti, which were on his walls can only be seen in the photo.
